10 TO MIDNIGHT/Ennen Keskiyötä/FIx/cut. The
infamous distributor VTC Video of course trimmed this Charles
Bronson-chiller. Some shots of blood-stained girls are deleted,
and a shot of the killer taking a bullet to his head is removed.
The FIx tape released by Omaxi is also cut. NOTE: The British
cert.18-videoversion is cut 1 min 43 sec!!! Uh-oh.
2019: AFTER THE FALL OF NEW YORK/New
Yorkin Tuhon Jälkeen Vuonna 2019/FIx/cut 4 sec. Some cuts (courtesy
of the distributor) were made to this spaghetti post-apocalypse
bombloitation, with Big George Eastman himself! *Parsifal
impaling the man to the car tire spear has been briefly cut - the
Finnish video misses out the shot of the man bleeding from his
mouth, and the frame tilting down to show the spear sticking out
from his stomach. *In the fight at the headquarters of the rat
people, a quick bloody sight of the axe impacting on the leader's
head has been cut out. *The scene, where Big Ape throws a sword
from a moving car, and the sword beheads three soldiers, has been
trimmed - you only see the throwing in the FIx tape, and none of
the results.
2 HAUSKAA VEKKULIA/FIc/cut. Finnish comedy from 1953 was cut by the VET upon its release. The cuts presumably were to a scene showing an explicit nude pin-up on the background wall. NOTE: No word on a possible Finnish video release; has been shown uncut many times on Finnish television.
3 NINJAS - HIGH NOON AT MEGA MOUNTAIN/3 Ninjaa Pistää Tuulemaan/FI/K11/cut 3 min 45 sec! The Finnish widescreen dvd-version is the same as the UK disc, which was cut almost four minutes (!!) by the BBFC to archieve a 'PG' certificate. The cuts, which some were substitutions, were made to light martial arts fighting. NOTE: The Finnish videoversion (also rated K11) is uncut.
3 NINJAS KICK BACK/3 Ninjaa Iskee Takaisin/FI/K11/cut 42 sec. The Finnish dvd-version (widescreen) is the same as the UK disc, which has cuts totalling 42 secons to light martial arts fighting/weaponry courtesy of the BBFC. The cuts were originally made to the UK videoversion to archieve a 'U' certificate.
3 NINJAS KNUCKLE UP/3 Ninjaa Sotapolulla/FI/K11/cut 2 min 9 sec. The Finnish dvd-version (widescreen) is the same as the UK disc, which was very heavily cut by the BBFC to archieve an 'PG' certificate. The cuts were presumably to light martial arts fights/weaponry.
52 PICK-UP/Pahan Otteessa/FI/K16/cut. Critically acclaimed, or not, but the number one friend of Finnish videohounds, distributor Showtime trimmed this Elmore Leonard flick starring Roy "Jaws" Scheider. At least some seconds are trimmed from the video "snuff" scenes. NOTE: The Finnish theatrical version (rated K18) was cut 14 seconds by VET. The British cert.18-videoversion (!) is cut 1 minute 46 seconds!!! Gasp!
