WAKING THE DEAD DELETED SCENES/FI/K15/cut 3 min 54 sec!! The Finnish dvd is unfortunately same as the UK disc, which although has the film itself fully uncut, has very heavy BBFC cuts applied to the lenghty 'deleted scenes' section of the dvd's extras. BBFC comments: "The cuts were Cuts for category. Company chose to cut sequence of Class A drugs use to archieve a '15'. An '18' uncut was available to the distributor". NOTE: The US dvd (R1) has the dvd extras fully uncut.

WALKER/FI/K15/cut 6 sec. The Finnish widescreen dvd of this 1988 Alex Cox movie (reminiscent of cult cinema-maker Marco Ferreri's "Don't Touch The White Woman"!) unfortunately is the same as the UK disc (certified '18'), which has 6 seconds of censoring made by the British censor BBFC. They comment as follows: "To obtain this category cuts of 0m 6s were required. The cuts were Compulsory. Distributor required to remove 3 shots of cruelty to an animal (horse fall) in accordance with the Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act 1937". NOTE: The Finnish video- and cinema-versions (rated K16) are uncut. The British video and theatrical versions (both certified '18') include the same cuts as the dvd.

THE WARRIORS/Soturit/FIx/cut 11 sec. The cuts (courtesy of the distributor) in this cool "landmark" gang movie are as follows: the fight in the bathroom between the two gangs has lost one gang member throwing a warrior to a line of mirrors (2 secs), and the final confrontation where the warriors leader throws a knife to the hand of the baddie is shortened (9 secs). NOTE: The Finnish dvd-version (anamorphic widescreen), is rated K18, and uncut! The British versions (certified '18') are uncut, and so is Paramount's poor R1 dvd too.

THE WAY OF THE DRAGON/Lohikäärmeen Tie/FI/K16/cut 3 min 13 sec. VET censored this excellent Bruce Lee-flick, and gave it more cuts than the FIx-version has, which has been passed with a K16-certificate from VET!!! The fight between the thugs and Lee in the yard of the restaurant has been pretty heavily cut. The scene where Lee fights the thugs with a stick and a pair of nunchucks has been cut over a minute (!!!). The fight of the thugs vs the karate guys in the country has been shortened, and the grand finale of Lee vs Chuck Norris in the Colosseum has lost Lee kicking Chuck to the head, breaking his leg, and the neck-snapping is reduced. NOTE: The Finnish dvd-version (anamorphic widescreen, rated K18) is uncut. The FIx-version (above) is cut about a minute. The American version titled "Return Of The Dragon" (to cash in at the success of the later-made "Enter The Dragon") is cut from the narrative scenes, and some violence is also removed (e.g. Lee kicking Chuck Norris repeatedly on the side of the head in the final battle). The excellent UK dvd-version (widescreen, certified '18') is actually not fully uncut, as it is missing Chen and Tang dragging the hit man away after he's been killed. This however is not an official censor cut, and the disc is notable for superior picture & sound quality, and extras. The movie was extremely heavily cut from the violence by the BBFC for UK cinema, and even further for video, now to remove every last glimpse of the "dreaded" nunchucks, that still remained intact. Therefore, the British cert.18-videoversion is cut 7 minutes and 9 seconds (5 minutes and 56 seconds for UK cinema, and further cuts worth 1 minute and 13 seconds for UK video) !!!! The extremely heavy cuts are as follows: 1.In the first confrontation, Tang kicks the bearded hoodlum twice, but the first of these is cut out, along with Tang's line Movement number four: Dragon seeks path (4 secs). 2.In the first confrontation, when Tang has knocked the black hoodlum down, Tang sitting on him as the two remaining hoodlums near him, and Tang then kicking them in the legs, has been all cut out (17 secs). 3.When Tang attacks the hit man waiting for him and Chen, Tang snapping his neck, and Chen and Tang dragging him away, and Tang farewelling Chen, have all been removed (23 secs). 4.The scene, where the whole gang invades the restaurant, one of the hoodlums interrogating the staff (about the where-abouts of Tang), has lost the big boss giving the order for mayhem, which leads to the bearded hoodlum punching the fat guy with his gun several times, and finally one staff member cracking up (32 secs). 5.In the yard, Tang bashing the two hoodlums with his stick, making one of them crashing to a pile of boxes, is no more (6 secs). 6.The entire big nunchucks-brawl in the yard has been deleted; this features Tang knocking the last hoodlum with his stick, and a big bunch of thugs arriving, Tang pulling out his nunchucks, and kicking the living crap out of them all. Just few shots of Tang, and the bearded hoodlum remain from this scene for continuity (3 mins 25 secs!!!). 7.Right after cut 6, Tang stepping back inside the restaurant (you can see nunchucks in his hands) (5 secs). 8.Tang stepping out from the exit, and throwing darts at the goons, while the restaurant staff attacks them and takes the upper hand, while Tang bashes a couple of goons with the nunchucks, and stops the fleeing big boss by throwing the nunchucks to his hand (cut 24 secs, and re-edited). 9.The big boss throwing out the nunchucks thrown to his hand (1 sec). 10.In the villains' head quarters, right after the good guy is crashed to a glass table, another good guy being punched around, and Tang battling a few thugs, have been eliminated (32 secs). 11.In the villains' head quarters, three good guys kicking a "helpless" villain into the corner, is no more (5 secs). 12.In the country, the second, the third, and the fourth good guy attacking the European champion (Bob Wall), are completely deleted (18 secs). 13.In the country, the small fight of Tang vs the European champion is heavily cut, omitting almost every punch and kick from Tang, along with a shot of a second good guy attacking the Japanese champion (23 secs). 14.In the country, after the European champion is getting tired, Tang kicking his ass (literally!), is trimmed (3 secs). 15.In the country, Tang vicously punching the European champion in the balls (which makes him faint) is cut out (2 secs). 16.In the country, before Tang starts to walk towards the Japanese champion, Japanese champion seriously beating the good guys, is missing (9 secs). 17.In the country, the small fight of Tang vs the Japanese champion has lost Tang kicking him down sveral times with heavy kicks (16 secs). 18.In the country, the two good guys kicking the Japanese champion down, has been reduced from a few kicks (2 secs).19.In the country, the stabbing of the two good guys has lost the traitor pulling the knife out, and laughing (4 secs). 20.The final battle of Tang and Colt is severely cut. This includes Tang knocking Colt down the second time, and kicking his right leg several times, and giving him a fistful of rapid fire punches (52 secs). 21.Before breaking his leg, Tang punching Colt five times very violently, is trimmed (poorly edited 6 secs). Well, that's it. I'm sure the dumbest idiot have realized by now, that the UK videoversion should be neared with a sledge hammer...

WILD AT HEART/Villi Sydän/FI/K16/cut 25 sec. The graphic beating in the beginning is toned down, plus Bobby Peru blowing up his brains and them flying to the air, and the "dog and the hand" scene are cut. NOTE: The Finnish dvd (rated K15) is uncut and anamorphic widescreen. The UK cert.18 video and dvd are uncut and are also presented in the original Panavision 2.35:1 widescreen aspect ratio. The US version was optically censored to archieve an R-rating - a smoke was added to obscure Bobby Peru blowing up his head.

YHTEINEN VAIMOMME/FIc/cut 25 sec. During the original theatrical release in 1956 VET ordered cuts to this Finnish movie to "remove everything which deals with the bribing of public officials"! The following lines of dialogue at least were removed: 1.Viime kuussa johtaja säästi 40,000 pelkästeen ravintolalaskuina ja ensi kuussa odotamme ennätystä (= "Last month the boss saved 40,000 just on restaurant bills and next month we are waiting for a record"). 2. ...toimitusjohtaja olisi varmasti imarreltu jos johtaja suostuisi kokeilemaan meidän puutavaroitamme uudessa huvilassaan (= "...the managing director would be surely flattered if the boss would try our wood supplies on his new villa"). NOTE: The Finnish videoversion (rated K16...!) is possibly uncut.
